Planning Your Next Brand Photography Session: A Time Breakdown
Ok Calgary small business owners, you know you need photos. You wouldn’t have landed here if you didn’t know. But maybe you’re unsure of exactly what you need or even what you want so you continue to procrastinate reaching out to me.
Really good brand photos don’t just happen overnight, even if we wish they did. And they really don’t happen when we procrastinate even starting the process!
So instead of continuing to scroll through Instagram or checking out a competitor’s website, and feeling overwhelmed at how effortless it all looks, let’s get this process started for YOU!
There is a lot of hard work that goes into a brand shoot but it’s all worth it because you can get those beautifully curated images and clear on your companies intentions to showcase what you and your business have to offer.
Beautiful brand images take TIME. From the planning stages to shooting to editing, every step of the way is important and we don’t want to rush the process. The question I get a lot is: “When should I book my branding photo session?”
To answer this, let’s work backwards.
If you know when your ideal launch date is, you can work backward to determine when you should start thinking about shooting for your launch. I would suggest a three month window from booking your brand session with me and your launch date. I know what you’re thinking - that is a loooong time, but trust me, that time goes by fast and at least you can cross brand photos off of your long launch to-do list. Here’s a breakdown of what the process looks like from inquiring with me - to getting images delivered.
Reach Out, Inquire!
Generally I book 1-2months in advance for M-TH and 3 months in advance for Fridays
This is when we select a package & date that suits your needs to which you then sign a contract, pay an invoice and get started on your questionnaire.
Brand Planning Call
This needs to be booked 2-4 weeks in advance. I highly recommend 4 weeks!
This is where we chat about your questionnaire, brainstorm together and map out a plan for your session. After our call, I’ll put together your packing list, reminder of ideas on how we can create the content your audience needs and you’ll sign off on this!
Photoshoot day
The best part of the process! On photo day we have fun, get creative, laugh and build content to tell your brand’s story. These can include photos of you, your process and the stories we brainstormed in our brand planning call.
Image selection
It takes me up to 4 business days to get this sent out.
I will send you proofing galleries so that you are in control of what images get edited. You handpick the images you want to use and I get to work on editing those! You have 1 week to select, otherwise timelines of edits being returned will be delayed.
Image delivery
From the time you select your images, this can take up to 3 weeks.
The moment you’ve been waiting for, your online gallery is delivered with high-resolution digital files to share at your leisure.
And now you’re ready to put your launch content together with high-quality visuals and all! You can feel good that you’re not stressing about what you’re going to post the night before launch. It pays to be prepared!
